Personality:
Vash is a stern, angry twenty-two-year-old. He is easy to set off depending on who you are, but usually he's just serious and more concern with his own affairs then those around him. He is never unarmed; the man probably sleeps with a rifle under his pillow, and he's got a perfect aim to match. Being as stern faced and serious as he is, it's a surprise he can cook the best sweets when it comes to chocolate. He does have a relaxed side, but it's rarely seen unless you're a close friend of his, someone he can completely trust.
Despite his obvious flaws, Vash might be stern but he gets any job done that he's given, and he won't slack on it either. He will do it to the best of his ability, and frankly Swiss ability is really high class and he knows it. Not that he'd shove the fact into anyone's face of course.
The blonde also holsters a kind of OCD behavior when it comes to keeping things in an order. He likes things a certain way - and that's usually clean, proper, neat, and orderly. He usually assigns himself in situations as a mediator - and is pretty much like a discipline committee all his own when it comes to dealing with the students.
He's also got an itchy trigger finger. So if he knows he can shoot someone and they'll live through it, he'll most definitely shoot that person whenever they step out of line. This of course is all based on his opinion of being out of line which can be as small as making loud noises obnoxiously, to doing what he deems 'indecent' things.
Past of the character:
Vash had always had a short fuse and it got him into trouble a lot as a kid. If someone annoyed him, argued with him, or even just touched him the fists would fly. He got into so much trouble at one point he was expelled from his elementary school and him and his family had to move. They all thought that would be it after that, but the situation only got worse. They had to keep moving from city to city until Vash was finally old enough to enter high school with more rules and strict teachers.
His parents sent him to a boarding school and moved back to their home town, letting them deal with Vash for a while. They didn't even let him know when they were moving or where, just left him at the dorms with his things and drove away. He wasn't sad, though, honestly he expected it. He didn't find them at fault when they had a trouble maker of a son. He loved them despite what they did, and knew one day he would find them again and apologize. But before he could do that he had to get his temper under control.
It was hard his Freshman year with all the older kids picking on him. But it was the best test he could have ever been subjected to. Day after day he was brought almost to the breaking point but he made himself remain calm, keep his fists clenched under his desk, focus entirely on his studies to distract himself. It worked for a while, but eventually he had so many pent up feelings he needed a way to get it all out.
That was when he found the joy of guns.
Vash bought his first air-soft gun during his second semester and set up a make-shift shooting range in the yard of his dorms. He practiced every day and eventually brought in a crowd that cheered him with every bulls-eye. He was finally making friends instead of pushing people away with violence. He ended up joining a skeet team and a paint-ball team and found himself actually having fun. He found his passion in life as he soon became the leader of his various teams and clubs, all the while balancing his schoolwork as well.
He wished his parents could have seen him. They would have been so proud.
The rest of Vash's high school years went by without any problems, and because of his good grades, ambitious attitude, and leadership he was invited to study abroad. Of course he took the opportunity and before he knew it he was on his way to America. After his experience in high school, college was a breeze. He studied well, joined a few clubs (as well as started one, a gun club), and most importantly - for him, at least - confirmed his sexuality that he had been confused about since his Junior year in high school.
Vash came out to his friends, who thankfully all accepted him, and fought for gay rights in his school and county. He wanted to do more, but knew his attention should be focused on something else for now. He would of course do all he could for everyone's rights wherever he ended up, and that's why he decided that when he left college he would become a teacher at the most prestigious school he could.
Vash graduated college with top honors and was almost immediately offered a job. A teaching job just like he wanted. He was happy and excited to find out what else his life could possibly bring, and what he could do with every opportunity he was given. He wanted to change lives one step at a time, and his students would be the first.
Roleplay Sample:
Vash watched Ludwig try and talk to Gilbird with an amused smirk, though he made sure the German couldn't see it when he turned to look at him. He lead the way down the street once more as he started to explain what he knew about the town so far.
"This place is abandoned," he begun. "It's as if everyone just stopped what they were doing and left. At first I thought it was an evacuation, perhaps a natural disaster is coming. But everything is too...intact for that. Some cars are even still here. And while this town is dark I don't see any sign of a hurricane, and there's no way there can be a volcano here. The only thing I can think of is they were running from the monsters." He glanced to Ludwig. That was the first he'd mentioned of the monstrosities he fought earlier. He hoped those were the only ones, but he also knew better than to hope for the impossible.
"In short it would be best to find our siblings sooner than later..." Of course he was still thinking of his dear sister. In truth he hoped she wasn't there at all, being spared the horror of that place. But on the off-chance she was, well, he needed to know as soon as possible. He taught her how to use a gun and while she could aim almost as well as him she'd never killed anything, not even an animal. He did not want her to start now, and he doubted she would even have a gun to begin with. Unlike her brother, she didn't bring one with her wherever she went.
[This is from another RP as well, but - as you can see - it is indeed Vash. :> He obviously wants to be the hero~]
