Gender: Male
Country: Switzerland
Age: 23
Student or Teacher?: Teacher
Class/Classes:

Status:
He refuses to be a soup can.
Character information:
Likes: Vash enjoys being in charge, whether it be in the form of being a teacher, or being a mentor to someone. That doesn’t mean he’s bossy, it’s more like he enjoys being able to point a person in the right direction for life. He also enjoys cheese, among other dairy products –his family grew up big on dairy. Not a big fan of music, only liking a few rock bands with some classical artists. He likes to spend his Friday nights at home reading a book, or eating dinner with a friend or two. What he enjoys most however are guns. Shooting them, polishing them, or just admiring them. He wasn’t a hunter, but he liked to go to shooting ranges and fire a round or five of bullets. Speaking his mind, keeping his belongings organized, Animals, hiking, and rock climbing are just a few other of his likes.
Dislikes: The main thing is being disrespected. He likes to give credit where credit is due, and if the same isn’t done for him, he’ll go into his ‘rage-mode’. Another common annoyance of Vash’s is being proven wrong. He also hates people who hunt animals for game. If it’s to feed the family, then he sees that as reasonable, but to kill for no reason isn’t. Seeing people being bullied are one of his largest dislikes. He hates seeing people being put down for who they are. It’s that ‘big brother’ sort of feeling that makes him want to protect the underdogs. As for school, he has many pet peeves, such as no organization skills, tardiness, procrastination, and just plain laziness. Then there’s also people who jiggle their legs when they’re sitting, it bothers him to no end.
Personality: Vash is a very well mannered person. He tries to not speak out of turn, but he does slip up occasionally. There are times when he can be a bit loud-mouthed, but it’s all for good reason. The Swiss man tries to have his students speak their opinion, as he’s a big believer in freedom of speech; even if three quarters of the time he doesn’t agree with what his students say. Being a strong conservative, he likes things to stay the same –quite unlike the many rambunctious, rebellious liberals inside of his students. Because of this, there are times when he ‘freaks out’ at the thought of change. Those times being if his schedule is thrown off, if he’s sick for a couple days, or if he accidentally leaves something out of his lesson plan. As he is still young, Vash likes to enjoy some of the more untraditional sports and recreational activities, such as archery, and rock climbing. He likes to be outdoors, as long as the sun is out. Once the sun sets, he –as his sister calls it– goes into his ‘old man mode’ where he eats his dinner, reads for a bit, then goes to bed early. But just like an old man, he’s protective of his property, often yelling at people who touch his things without permission. There have been times when he wasn’t teaching that he threatened adults, and few kids, with his bow and arrows because they got too close to his car. Vash tries to calm those violent tendencies, but they always arise because by the end of the day, he’s stressed, tired, and ready to take a nap. All in all though, as a teacher, Vash is dead set on setting kids on the right track in life. He doesn’t tolerate slackers and rewards those who do their work and pass it in on time.
Past of the character:
Growing up on the country side in Switzerland, Vash lived a normal life. He was an only child for the majority of his childhood. In that time he helped out his family with owning a dairy farm, looking after the cows and goats. There were other animals, such as pigs and horses, but they specialized in producing dairy products. Their products not only being sent around Switzerland, but also to Germany and Austria. For a while, his family was well off. But then there was a time when their cows became ill, and had to shut down production for a while. Vash’s family fell into poverty for a while, and could barely feed themselves. Nevertheless he still managed to go to school and study hard.
When Vash was around the age of thirteen, his family took in a small girl from Lichtenstein. Her family was friends with his, and her parents died from hunger. Being the selfless people they were, his parents couldn’t send her away. And thus, Vash gained a younger sister. Her wellbeing was always put before himself, a feeling that came with being an older brother. Loving the feeling of giving guidance to ones younger than himself, Vash decided to become a teacher. Unfortunately, there wasn’t a great opportunity where he grew up. The main thing holding him back was leaving his little sister, it pained him to leave her, since they formed a close bond throughout the years.
She hated to see him go too, but it was her that snapped some sense into him. Even though she loved her older brother dearly, she didn’t want to be responsible for holding him back. So one day, she packed his bags, and got him a flight to America. This left him dumbfounded, but he slowly smiled and hugged her goodbye. For all those years, he looked after her well being, and she was able to look after his.
So in America Vash was able to study hard, living with some clients that knew of his family’s farm. He made a deal with them saying as long as he was at the top of his class, he could stay with them. It was many hard years, but Vash eventually got his degree for teaching. From there, he had many small teaching jobs, substitute jobs at first, then eventually teaching a year or so for middle schools. It wasn’t until he quit his last job –the students were too rambunctious– that he was offered a job at a private high school, and he would be able to live on campus and everything. Vash took the interview, and was able to get the job as one of the main history teachers, and to coach the newly formed archery team.
Roleplay Sample:
The sun was shining, rays of twinkling light wove through the curtains of the neatly decorated room. Microscopic dust particles tickled the nose of a certain man. The man lay stiff in his bed, head laid neatly against the pillow, arms folded across his chest under the blankets, and feet not bent in any angle. One would think this man would be dead, if not for the scrunching of his nose when the sun infiltrated his bedroom. Slowly, green eyes peaked through his eyelids. They closed once again, and the man’s head turned on its side. The eyes opened once again to look at the clock on his bedside table. Seeing the time being 7:05 a.m. the eyes widened in shock. He was supposed to be awake at 7:00 a.m. on the dot! Not 7:05, not 7:02, not even 7:01. 7:00 exactly. No more, no less. Oh, he was going to be late, he had to be on time. His schedule could not change at all.
“Calm down, Vash,” he told himself, “I’ll just take a shorter shower. Nnng, but then again I would end up smelling worse for the day. Hmm... maybe if I walked at a faster pace than usual? No, that wouldn’t work, I’d be sweaty then, I’m not the gym teacher for god’s sake!” Vash rambled on to himself on how to rebalance his schedule. Each proposition he created were shot down within seconds. There was just no way he could change anything, every step of his morning was vital to the rest of the day. As he took his time in the shower, dressed himself afterwards, he decided to do what he did every time he slept in; he skipped breakfast.
Breakfast was the most important meal of the day, skipping that meant a grumpy Vash. A grumpy Vash meant that his students would suffer. Well, they weren’t behaving the previous day, so he could blame it on them. Hm, perhaps he should give them a couple of chapters to outline for homework. That’d be a good idea, Vash thought as he grabbed his rucksack, planning the rest of the day out in his head.
