Toris, may seem like an introvert at first glance. A nice, constantly smiling man, but an introvert nonetheless. The truth is, he is simply shy, a bad trait that grew while he was working when he was younger. He discovered that no one wanted a maid that was outspoken and chatty, so he strived to be silent around his employers. This trait carried over to his personal life. He's working on it. Somewhat. Toris goes out of his way to be a kind, caring person, but this can end up with him being taken advantage sometimes.
Toris can vary from being a hopeless romantic to being the most depressing realist in the world quickly.
When it comes to things like love and romance, he is naive and blissfully ignorant of the way things really work. When he was younger, he tended to read romance novels when he had time, and although he doesn't do this anymore, the plots and characters affected his viewpoint of romance greatly.
But when it comes to things other than romance, why, he's so depressing he'll give anyone within a 25 mile radius a stomachache and teary eyes. This makes him a realist in his eyes, and this view makes him plan for everything like a mad man. He has plotted out his life, and wants to be successful. He has ambitions, several of them. They are so intricately planned that they cannot help but work. As for unexpected events and happenings, Toris is a man well-adapted for change, so he knows how to make things like this work for him.
Past of the character (Hows life outside school?):
Toris Laurinaitis was born in a small town in Lithuania, to parents who wanted him to grow up to be something influential and important. His mother would often talk to him of the ancestors he had that were nobility, heavily linked to the Polish and Russians, but lost after several unfortunate events involving marriage to the wrong people and a rebellious streak in a great-great-great-etc. grandparent. Although he saw that becoming a noble again would be quite the impossible task, Toris did want to succeed, in whatever way he could. In school, he kept his grades up, and took a number of odd jobs, wanting to save his money.
After finishing school, he got the chance to go to America and train as a teacher. Being a teacher is as fine a career as any, is it not?
Roleplay Sample (Show us how you play):
Ah, math problems.
Toris was like any other reasonable human being when it came to them, that is, he disliked them heavily. But the facts remained - he was the math teacher and was good at them. Teaching math had been quite the path. He had originally planned to teach something like English, which was, in his opinion, the most interesting class. But he was teaching math; that was just the way things had turned out. He wondered if his plans would all go wrong and he would be stuck teaching math forever. No, that couldn't be.
Sigh. Wasn't there a faster way to divide this?
